Depression is feeling down for an extended period of time. We all feel down at some stage of our lives. However, if feeling sad, numb, flat, not interested in doing anything, restless, edgy, tired, irritable and frustrated all the time. You need help. Other symptoms can be not sleeping, or even sleeping too much! It’s a complicated thing. Working on causes, emotional upheavals and building your sense of purpose we can improve your quality of life.
Try this self help little tip: Buy a notebook, call it your Gratitude Book, each day write something good about your life e.g. It’s a sunny, warm day, or ask friends to write what they like about you eg. loyal? clever? It makes happy reading and can lift your spirits. Find your support groups!
Anxiety is when you are worrying about the future. Stop! Bring your mind to the now, concentrate on the moment, breathe. We can worry about the future, but what good is that. Yes, crap might happen, but many good things too. So enjoy the moment, self talk to yourself, and calm yourself what ever way works for you.
Stress is our bodies reaction to things. Think what is your body doing? Are you sweating, breathing heavy? Let’s concentrate on the physical reactions, then work on some strategies that will reduce the physical and emotional strains on your body. Meditation is not crap, it does work and it can work for you.
