Sally Henderson

Clinical Counsellor.

A little bit about me

I am a dedicated mother, partner, and yoga practitioner who has lived on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, for over 30 years after growing up in Sydney. My career began in hospitality, where I enjoyed working in fine dining and taking on various roles both in the kitchen and front of house before transitioning into counselling, my true passion.

I hold both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Counselling from the University of the Sunshine Coast, which I completed consecutively in the early 2000s. Alongside my work in counselling, I have a deep commitment to yoga, having completed numerous teacher trainings, and have been teaching for over a decade. Yoga is a daily practice for me, and I also find joy in music, nature, and sharing healthy, delicious food with great company.

I am passionate about social justice and have a deep love for animals, especially our little dog. I’m the kind of person who always stops to share a moment with a dog.

I’m fortunate to have an incredible circle of friends—like-minded individuals who help me live life to the fullest and hold me accountable when needed. Family is central to my life, and I treasure the time I spend with my adult children, their partners, and my own partner. Their wisdom, kindness, and intelligence have been some of my greatest teachers.

compassionate, insightful, and dedicated to helping clients through relational and holistic therapy.

my personal approach

Sally considers the whole person, rather than just focusing on symptoms. This could include integrating practices like mindfulness, stress management, somatic therapy, and even lifestyle changes (like exercise or sleep) alongside traditional talk therapy to support overall well-being.
